I-94 In Detroit To Close This Weekend For Bridge Work

Here's a look at the detours you need to know this weekend.

DETROIT, MI — Heads up, motorists, a main thoroughfare will be closed down this weekend as crews complete bridge work and other projects along the highway.

Beginning Friday evening, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will close eastbound and westbound I-94 between US-12 (Michigan Avenue) and I-96. This weekend closure will allow work at multiple locations, including a railroad bridge near Livernois Road, concrete form removal near Warren Avenue, and steel repairs on the 24th Street bridge.

This work is weather dependent and may be cancelled and rescheduled, MDOT officials said.
