Lab Beagles Arrive At Michigan Humane Society
An undercover investigation freed the lab-raised beagles and now the Michigan Humane Society is evaluating the animals for new homes.

MICHIGAN — The beagles rescued from a testing lab last month are officially in the care of the Michigan Humane Society. The dogs came from Corteva Agriscience, a lab in Mattawan, Mich., about 150 miles west of Detroit.
The MHS is now giving each dog a behavioral assessment and veterinary care before starting the adoption process, officials said.
In an undercover investigation, the Humane Society of the United States said it witnessed dogs being force-fed fungicides at the — and learned the dogs would be euthanized this summer as part of the test, FOX2 reported.

In March, Corteva Agriscience, the agriculture division of DowDuPont, announced they were stopping the study and would make every effort to rehome the animals.
The beagles were raised for use in the laboratory and aren't used to walking on leashes or going outside, the report noted.
