2015 Fenton ArtWalk Artist Rebecca Fry to Appear at Rough Draught Coffee and Barroom July 11
Be Closer to Arts & Culture in Downtown Fenton Saturday July 11
Residence: Ann Arbor, MI
Background: I’m Rebecca Fry, the one and only owner of Rebecca’s Reflections which was a name thought up by my editor, manager, muse and dearest friend AKA my mother. While working on my degree in journalism, I discovered a love for photo journalism because it let me tell my story much faster. Since then I’ve studied many kinds of photography from studio work to low lighting landscapes. I’ve traveled to many events and am always willing to try something new, but the things I love most are kids, animals and flowers. I don’t shy away from what people call weird and I don’t believe there is really such a thing as ugly. I find the beauty you didn’t know you were looking for.
How did you get started as an artist?: My last few years in college, we had a new professor in the photo journalism department. One shot of a puppy and a girl, and I knew photography was my calling.

Describe your art: Mostly I do photography, but it’s not until I get home that the real fun begins. I like to see what beauty can be found beyond just the pictures I take. From color saturated, black and white or completely beyond, there’s always something more.
What is your next project?: Currently I’m experimenting with metal and canvas printing.

Where can your art be found?: Most of my work can be found at my Flickr site: www.flickr.com/photos/artispoetry
What inspires you?:
My inspiration is the beauty found all around us that no one ever sees. People see a balcony, or a tulip. I see structure and color, amazing things that are normally overlooked.
