More Than 50 Pounds of Cocaine Seized at Michigan, Canada Border
A truck driver has been jailed while trying to cross the Ambassador Bridge.

A Canadian man has been jailed for allegedly attempting to bring 50 pounds of cocaine into Canada from Detroit.
Ashvinder Singh Kundi, 45, of Guelph, Ontario, was transporting 20 bricks of cocaine in his truck, which was searched crossing Ambassador Bridge on Sept. 16, the Detroit Free Press reported.

Kundi remains in custody with a court date set for Friday.
“These cocaine seizures show that the [Canadian border services] efforts to stop the smuggling of illicit drugs and keep contraband off our streets are working,” said Rick Comerford, regional director general of the Southern Ontario Region CBSA in a statement. “I am proud of the work of our officers who are vigilant in their efforts to ensure our borders are not used for illegal activities.”
