The FBI has joined the search for Omarion Humphrey, 9, of Davison Township, according to a report on MLive.com. Township Police Chief Rick Freeman wouldn’t discuss the nature of the FBI’s involvement, but told reporters at a news conference that that the request for FBI assistance came in response to a question posed by Khisha Humphrey.
Authorities have no leads about what happened to the boy, who was with his foster family when he disappeared Sunday. He was last seen near a splash pad at the park about 5:45 p.m. Saturday.

Multiple search and rescue operations, including the deployment of canine units, have been ongoing, but police are worried an approaching storm system could wash away the boy’s scent. The Lapeer County Sheriff’s Office Mounted Division brought in horses that could be used to search the park grounds, and dive teams from Genesee and Lapeer counties have conducted multiple searches of the lake, with no results.
Freeman encouraged residents living the near the park to check in shed, under porches and other places the boy might hide.
“This young man is apparently very, very skilled at hiding when he’s upset and/or scared,” Freeman said. “He may not approach you and he may not like to be approached.”
If anyone spots the boy, they’re urged to keep him in sight, but not approach him because he frightens easily. Instead, call the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office at (810) 732-4720 or 911.
Omarion is a black male, non-verbal communication autistic child. He has black hair, is 4 feet tall and weighs 70 pounds, and was last seen wearing black shorts with a red strip. He was not wearing a shirt or shoes. He goes by “Mars,” and will respond to that nickname is if he is called.
