2 Ferndale Schools Closed Thursday After Threat Of Self-Harm Made
Out of an abundance of caution, Ferndale closed two schools Thursday after a third-party employee threatened self-harm.

FERNDALE, MI — Ferndale Middle School and Ferndale High School were unexpectedly closed Thursday after a third-party employee reportedly threatened self-harm. District officials said the measure was done out of extreme caution, according to a media report.
Searches for the employee were conducted in school buildings. The employee, who was not identified was later found at home, according to the report by WDIV.
“I want to very clear, there was no specific threat to the students, staff, or community of Ferndale,” said Ferndale School District Supt. Dania Bazzi. “We simply closed Ferndale Middle and High School today due to an abundance of caution.”
School is expected to resume Friday.
