Como’s In Ferndale To Be Revamped
Como's in Ferndale is finally making a comeback. Here's what's being planned.

FERNDALE, MI — The iconic pizza place located at the bustling corner of Woodward and 9 Mile in Ferndale will be revamped soon. Peas & Carrots Hospitality group announced Wednesday that it will be reviving Como's with the same name and a "pizza-centric" menu.
“Ferndale is socially liberal, inviting, and aligns with our company's mission of acting as a melting pot for an eclectic group of people," said Peas & Carrots Chef/Owner Zach Sklar in a news release. "We love that Ferndale wants to remain Ferndale and values those family-owned style restaurants. Even as we have grown, we've managed to retain that sense of belonging, and we know that Peas & Carrots Hospitality is a great fit for the Ferndale neighborhood.”
Peas & Carrots currently runs Social Kitchen & Bar in Birmingham and Grand Rapids, Mex and Beau's Grillery in Bloomfield Hills, and a restaurant in Chicago. The Como's revival will be its 13th restaurant opening in six years.

The group plans to reopen the restaurant on the 8,000-square-foot main floor next year. The infamous patio space will make a comeback, too. The second floor will be the company’s office space.
Como's was shut down by the health department in 2017 for the second time in under a year. It had been owned by the Grego family since its founding in 1961 and was put on the market for $4 million.
