Ferndale Police Chase Ends With Crash In Detroit House

The men accused of home invasion and fleeing police are both hospitalized with injuries from the crash, according to a report.

FERNDALE, MI — A home invasion turned into a police chase that resulted in a crash early Tuesday morning, according to reports.

WXYZ reported that two men, a 27-year-old from Hazel Park and a 27-year-old old from St. Clair Shores are hospitalized following the crash.

Police said it started with a reported home invasion in Ferndale when a resident found an intruder in his living room. Police said the intruder took off in a car. Police identified the vehicle as being a 2014 Ford Fusion, the report said, and a chase ensued into Detroit.

WXYZ reported that during the chase, the man's vehicle struck a utility pole and crashed into several houses before landing upside down in the front yard of a home pinning two men inside.

Police were able to help both injured men out, though one of the men was unconscious and unresponsive, the report said. Both were taken to the hospital for treatment.
