FERNDALE, MI — The GreenSpace Cafe, located on West 9 Mile, in Ferndale is permanently shuttering, according to reports. But fans shouldn't worry, you can find the fresh, gourmet vegan meals down the street at the Royal Oak location.
Owners of the GreenSpace Café in Ferndale say they are closing the gourmet vegan restaurant after four years in business. The owners, cardiologist Dr. Joel Kahn, his wife and son, said in a statement that they had issues with the landlord and leases and that they had no option but to close.
The owners said they served over 400,000 meals since they opened and claimed their green business model saved the lives of 146,000 animals, along with 160 million gallons of water, forest land, and a few million pounds of carbon dioxide.
