Flint Brewpub Cited For Indoor Service, Not Wearing Masks

An investigator said employees weren't wearing masks and were providing indoor service.

FLINT, MI — A Flint brewpub has had its liquor licenses and other permits suspended after breaking coronavirus health restrictions, state authorities said Monday.

The Michigan Liquor Control Commission on Friday ordered emergency suspensions of the liquor licenses and permits held by Tenacity Brewing, 119 N. Grand Traverse St. in Flint, according to state officials.

A virtual hearing will be held Dec. 28 to determine whether the suspension should continue or if other fines and penalties should be imposed.

According to a state filing detailing its investigation into the brewpub, an investigator checked in with Tenacity Brewing in November and found two employees not wearing masks. The business was given a written warning, according to a report.

In December, the investigator returned to Tenacity Brewing where she wrote in her report that she found employees still not wearing masks. While on location, the investigator said two patrons visited the business without masks and sampled alcohol all while they and the employees were not donning masks. The patrons were served alcohol and drank it inside the business, according to the report.
