A joint statement from Flint Mayor Sheldon Neeley and Police Chief Terence Green said the reported incident occurred at the River Village Apartments as the postal worker was delivering mail. It's unknown what led up to the attack.
A minute-long video of the attack was shared widely on social media and shows two women punching a female mail carrier who was down on the ground as a group of bystanders watch in the background. One of the women attacking the carrier could be heard shouting “she hit me first.”
