Flint School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Flint is September 5. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Flint Community School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

September

• 9/5: First Day of School, Half Day

October

• 10/4: Count Day
• 10/18: Half Day for Students (Staff PD)

November

• 11/7: No School (Staff PD)
• 11/23 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Break)
• 11/27: School Resumes

December

• 12/22: Half Day
• 12/25 - 1/2: No School (Holiday Break)

January

• 1/3: School Resumes
• 1/15: No School (MLK Day)
• 1/26: No School (Records Day)

February

• 2/7: Count Day
• 2/16: No School (Winter Break)
• 2/19: No School (Presidents Day)

March

• 3/7: No School (Professional Development)
• 3/30: No School (Good Friday)

April

• 4/2 - 4/6: No School (Spring Break)

May

• 5/28: No School (Memorial Day)

June

• 6/11 - 6/13: Secondary Students Half Day
• 6/13: Last Day of School (Records Day After School)
