A Michigan man used a smoke bomb to try to get rid of bees nesting in his garage, which was reduced to ashes in resulting fire.

GRAND BLANC TOWNSHIP, MI — A Michigan man burned down his garage after using a smoke bomb to get rid of a bees’ nest inside of it, fire officials said. No one was injured, but the Monday evening fire put a damper on the family’s Fourth of July gathering.

Mike Tingley, the homeowner, told MLive.com that “it’s depressing losing a place where we had lot of fun, but everyone is safe and that’s the main thing.”
Responding fire crews could see fireworks shooting into the sky from the garage, the Detroit Free Press reported.
