100 Art Awards Doled Out to Grosse Pointe Students

At least 100 awards are being doled out today to Grosse Pointe art students during the annual Scholastic Arts and Writing Awards at the College for Creative Studies. 

The awards ceremony will happen in shifts beginning at 11:30 a.m. The last group begins at 4 p.m. The Grosse Pointe students will be recognized during a ceremony beginning at 1 p.m.

According to the College for Creative Studies website, the annual competition begins locally, moves to national review in New York City and then winners are determined. The program involves opportunities to win scholarships for seniors and is rooted in encouraging art, writing and artistic work for young people.

Brownell Middle School
