The Grosse Pointe Farms police are investigating the theft of about $60,000 from the checking account of a resident, who discovered the missing money after the bank contacted him.

Grosse Pointe Farms police are investigating the theft of about $60,000 from a checking account belonging to a resident.
The man was recently contacted by his bank on a weekend about checks being cashed for large amounts on his account.
The man went into the bank to look into it more the following week and discovered approximately $60,000 worth of checks had been cashed from December 2012 to May 2013 that had not been authorized by him.
