All Pointes Auto Offers Another Option for Car Repair, Maintenance in Grosse Pointe Woods
The new service center in Grosse Pointe Woods offers service and maintenance to foreign, domestic and rare automobiles. It is owned and operated by a Grosse Pointe Park native.
Grosse Pointe Park native Mike Garza is offering automobile repair and maintenance to area residents from a new business in Gross Pointe Woods: All Pointes Auto.
The two-bay garage offers service to all vehicles--foreign, domestic and rare autos--with a focus on customer service.
Garza, who holds a Bachelors of Science in business administration from Wayne State University, said he turned his hobby into his business. He first began working on automobiles in Florida when he lived in Cape Canaveral for three years.
This is where he became an ASE Master Mechanic and worked in a garage offering significant training opportunities on a variety of car types, he said.
Garza, 32, moved back to the Pointes in 2010 from Toronto, where he lived and worked for about a year. He's glad to be back home and to offer his services to the community where he grew up.
The logo for All Pointes Auto gives some insight into Garza's personal interests beyond mechanics: Master Auto Mechanics and Sailing Fanatics. When he's not in the garage, he's in the water, he said.
He frequently races on the weekends and participated in a fundraiser last year for the Leukemia Cup and Race to find the cure, raising more than $10,000, he said.
The service center is located in a familiar location--the former Cueter Brothers Service Center, which closed a couple of years ago. The grounds and building have undergone several updates, including the paving of the lot from gravel and major renovations to update the interior and exterior of the building.
Garza did much of the renovation to the inside of the garage and building and the building's owner did much of the exterior work on the lot and the building, Garza said.
Being in that same location has brought some customers to All Pointes Auto, Garza said, explaining he has people stop in who were regulars to Cueters. They are inquiring about whether he is able to offer the same quality of service, to which he replies he'd like them to give him a chance.
He wants to provide quality work at a reasonable price, according to information he prepared for the media.
