Cash Stolen in Restaurant Burglary in Grosse Pointe Park
The following information is gathered from the Departments of Public Safety of the Grosse Pointes. Arrests do not indicate conviction.

Grosse Pointe Park detecties are investigating the burglary of Fou D'Amour in which a small amount of cash was stolen Sunday evening.
A resident who lives above the businesses with storefronts on Kercheval Avenue called police about 8:30 p.m. Sunday after he went outside to have a cigarette and discovered broken glass on the sidewalk.
Capt. David Loch said the man had been outside for the same reason about 4:30 p.m. and did not notice the broken glass--providing police with a rough timeframe about when the burglary happened.

The front window was broken out and the burglar reached into the business to unlock the door. Cash was taken from a register that sits near the front of the restaurant that specializes in scones and take-home dinners.
Loch said the timing of the crime was somewhat unusual but it happened when most of the businesses were closed and therefore there was less pedestrian traffic.

From what detectives were able to see at the scene, the search by the burglar was very cursory, or superficial, Loch said.
Detectives are reviewing evidence in the case.
