Dollars for Scholars Recognized by Scholarship America
Detroit Regional Dollars for Scholars becomes the only Michigan organization to receive honors from Scholarship America.

Detroit Regional Dollars for Scholars, Southeast Michigan's leading private nonprofit scholarship program, is the only organization in Michigan to receive honors from Scholarship America. The honors were presented at the Dreams for Success dinner in Washington D.C. The event celebrated the connection between students and passionate education supporters, and honored student stories of determination. In addition to the honors, DFS also presented at a Partner Summit to discuss students' needs and how to enhance existing scholarship programs.
"At Detroit Regional Dollars for Scholars, we are honored to receive these honors after decades of dedication to helping students prepare for life after high school," said Christa Funk, DFS Executive Director. "We hope the best practices we presented at the Partner Summit will influence programs across the country, and in turn, allow more students' dreams to become a reality."
Since 1990, Dollars for Scholars has been helping students achieve post-secondary success that they otherwise wouldn't have had the chance to pursue. The program is highly engaged in student participants' lives for three years leading up to high school graduation providing academic support and scholarship assistance. DFS has provided more than $1 million in scholarships to over 700 students in the Metro Detroit community.
