Free Meter Parking in Grosse Pointe Woods
Grosse Pointe Woods is once again offering free parking along Mack Avenue during the holidays.

Shoppers, diners and visitors to the many of the businesses on Mack in Grosse Pointe Woods can leave the change at home this holiday season.
Grosse Pointe Woods City Council recently voted to cover the parking meters along Mack Avenue through Dec. 26, and allow for free parking.
"I think it is good to send a message to our businesses to shop Mack Avenue," said Mayor Robert Novitke, during discussion about the proposal and supporting the small businesses in the communities.
The request from the Mack Avenue Business Association was unanimously approved by City Council. The promotion will also be studied to determine how beneficial the program is to the businesses, and if there could be other efforts which could "drive customers to the businesses on Mack," according to councilman Kevin Ketels.
Wan Kow and Bucci Ristorante are not participating in the promotion.
