Gearheads to Compete in World Championships
The Grosse Pointe Gearheads to compete at World Championships in coming weeks.
The Grosse Pointe Gearheads made it to quarterfinals Saturday and qualified to compete at the World Championships late this month.
The combined robotics teams--with team members from Grosse Pointe North and South high schools--competed Saturday at Eastern Michigan University. The team made it to the quarter-finals before being eliminated, said Mark Cornillie.
Gov. Rick Snyder visited the competition Saturday, visiting briefly with the team.

The team has never made it to the state competition. This weekend they made it to the quarterfinals before elimination, Cornillie said.
