Grosse Point Woods To Require Photo Linked With Park Pass
City Cites Recent Incidents, Need For Security

Grosse Pointe Park will now require residents over the age of 8 to have a picture taken at City Hall as part of the park pass process. The photos taken at city hall will be linked in the city’s database to the passes residents must use to enter Lake Front Park, according to City Administrator Bruce Smith.
Smith told the Detroit News the city has had problems recently with nonresidents in the park with passes “that didn’t belong to them” which Smith says led to “some incidents and assaults.”
“We had three or four incidents this past month or two with some property damage and assaults and thought it was time to take some steps,” Smith told the News.
