Last night, Grosse Pointe public schools announced that classes would be canceled today due to the deep snow and freezing temperatures that hit metro Detroit yesterday. With temperatures in the 20s and dropping to the low teens in the evenings, Metro Detroit remains in the grip of freezing winter weather and deep accumulations of snow from yesterday’s storms.
The district announced last night that school was canceled for today, Thursday Dec 14: “Grosse Pointe Public Schools will be closed tomorrow, December 14th, due to inclement weather. Thursday evening activities will be decided Thursday by 2:00 pm.”
With temperatures warming slightly, and snow not in the forecast again until this weekend, it seems likely that school will resume tomorrow. Any further delays or cancelations will be announced by the district on its website, in addition to being relayed to dozens of local media outlets.
