Grosse Pointe Shores Councilman Arrested

A Grosse Pointe Shores councilman was arrested Thursday night related to a domestic situation.

Grosse Pointe Shores Mayor Pro-Tem Dan Schulte was arrested Thursday night in connection with a domestic violence call, according to a source close to the investigation.

Patch is awaiting a return call from Grosse Pointe Shores Director of Public Safety John Schulte, who is of no relation to Dan Schulte.

The source shared with Patch that Dan Schulte was arrested before 8:30 p.m. Thursday. He was hospitalized Friday and an officer has been posted at his hospital door.

Dan Schulte has been on the council since April 2009. He has served as the Mayor Pro-Tem since Novmeber 2011. He recently ran for the state representative seat to represent district one but lost his bid to current representative Brian Banks, of Harper Woods.
