The Lake House, a gathering place providing support services to those touched by cancer, is bringing in the fall season with Waves of Hope. Through September and the beginning of October community members are hosting parties where funds raised will go towards The Lake House programming.
The following events are taking place in honor or Waves of Hope; anyone and everyone is welcome to attend:
- Fun @ Fishbones (23722 Jefferson, Saint Clair Shores, MI) Wednesday, September 6, 2017: $20 ticket at the door which includes provides hors d’oeuvre buffet as well as a cash bar.
- Euchre Tournament (at The Lake House: 23500 Pare St., St. Clair Shores, MI): $10 donation which includes pizza and fun.
- O’Flaherty’s Irish Bar (15119 Charlevoix, Grosse Pointe Park, MI): $20 includes food, fun, and a cash bar at Happy Hour prices.
- Market Day (at The Lake House: 23500 Pare St., St. Clair Shores, MI): Show with some of your favorite “home party” vendors and unique handmade specialties.
- Oktoberfest at Mike’s on the Water (24600 Jefferson, St. Clair Shores, MI) $20 tickets at the door for German buffet and music as well as a cash bar.

The Lake House offers a multitude of programs to assist those touched by cancer, from caregiver and bereavement groups, to wellness activities – including yoga and Zumba, a speaker series that features health care professionals and other experts that speak to a variety of cancer and general wellness topics.

The Lake House
The Lake House mission is to provide a safe harbor to support, educate and empower those touched by cancer. To fulfill this mission, the nonprofit provides a variety of services for survivors, caregivers, friends and family and those who have lost someone to cancer. Along with support groups, The Lake House offerings include wellness activities, such as yoga and Zumba, in addition to social and creative opportunities, like crafting and journaling. Newly featured programs include a weekly Caregivers Support Group and a Writing for Wellness group. Additionally, educational presentations by local experts are available throughout the year to the larger community. Private and foundation donations, along with fundraising events, allow The Lake House to provide all programs free of charge.
