Michiganders are prominent on The Forbes 400 List of the Richest Americans, topped for the 22nd consecutive year by Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, who has a net worth of $76 billion, and Berkshire Hathaway chief executive Warren Buffett, whose net worth is $62 billion.

The richest Michiganders are brothers Hank and Doug Meijer, of Grand Rapids, the supermarket magnates, whose net worth is $7.9 billion. They came in at No. 58 on the list.

Also in the top 100 are Richard DeVos, of Holland, co-founder of the direct-selling giant Amway and owner of the NBA’s Orlando Magic, who came in at No.84 with a net worth of $5.8 billion; and Little Caesar’s Pizza founders and NHL’s Detroit Red Wings owners Michael and Marian Ilitch, of Bingham Farms, No. 88, with a net worth of $5.4 billion. Mike Ilitch owns the Detroit Tigers baseball team, and Marian owns MotorCity Casino.

No. 149: Quicken Loans founder and owner of the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers Daniel Gilbert, of Franklin, with a net worth of $3.8 billion;

No. 159: Ronda Stryker, of Potage, the only member of the founding family to serve on the board of medical device and software maker Stryker Corp., with a net worth of $3.7 billion;

No. 307: John Brown, of Portage, retired chairman of Stryker Corp., with a net worth of $2.2 billion;

No. 327: Jon Stryker, of Kalamazoo, grandson of the founder of Stryker Corp., with a net worth of $2.1 billion;

No. 342 (tie): Manuel Moroun, of Grosse Pointe Shores, and family, transportation magnate who sold a key piece of land needed for the new $700 million Ambassador Bridge to Canada, with a net worth of $2 billion;

No. 342 (tie): Roger Penske, of Birmingham, former race car driver and owner of Team Penske and transportation company owner, with a net worth of $2 billion.
