US, Canadian and Allied Nations Officers To Gather

Formal dinner to be held this year in Windsor

Those who served as an officer in the United States Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force or Coast Guard or an allied nation, are invited to attend the 59th Annual International Armed Forces Night Dinner on Friday, May 11 in Windsor, Ontario.

“This year’s colorful event is filled with military traditions, music, history, and pageantry”, said Grosse Pointe Woods resident, Captain John McCandless, USN (Ret.), a member of the International Armed Forces Council. “The Band of the Windsor Regiment will perform, a Scottish piper in full regalia will pipe in the color guard and military dress uniforms of the American, Canadian, and Allied forces will be worn. A four-course dinner will be enjoyed by all.”

In 1960, military officers from the U.S., Canada and other allied nations first gathered to commemorate their friendship and service, salute their fallen comrades and share their military experiences at a formal dinner.
