Wayne County Woman Charged In Murder Of Boyfriend
The woman's father has been charged as an accessory after the fact, prosecutors said.
DETROIT — A Wayne County woman has been charged with first-degree murder in the killing of her 30-year-old live-in boyfriend and her father has been charged as an accessory after the fact of the murder, prosecutors said Tuesday afternoon.
Preaija Pope, 22, of Melvindale, and her father, 44-year-old Perry Pope of Taylor, were arraigned Friday in 24th District Court, Wayne County prosecutors said Tuesday.
Preaija Pope is charged with first-degree murder and felony firearm, prosecutors said. Her father is charged with tampering with evidence - crime over 10 years, accessory after the fact, felon in possession of a firearm and three counts of felon firearm.

Prosecutors said Preaija Pope killed her boyfriend, 30-year-old Timmy Robinson, and her father tampered with evidence at the scene of the shooting.
According to prosecutors, Melvindale police officers on Oct. 21, 2020, were called to the 440 of Gale Street where they found Robinson laying in the street with blood around his head and a head wound. When first responders from Dearborn arrived, they took Robinson to a local hospital where he later died from a gunshot wound to the head, prosecutors said.

Police went to Preaija Pope's apartment during the course of the investigation and found and confiscated a shotgun and other evidence, prosecutors said. Prosecutors said more information would be released during future court hearings.
Preaija Pope is scheduled to appear in court again on Feb. 16 for a probable cause conference. Her preliminary examination hearing is slated for Feb. 22.
Perry Pope is scheduled for a probable cause conference on March 1 with a preliminary examination set for March 8.
