Police ID Pedestrian Killed By Driver In Macomb Township

A man walking along a roadway in Macomb Township was struck and killed by a driver early Thursday morning.

MACOMB TOWNSHIP, MI — A man walking along a roadway in Macomb Township was struck and killed by a driver early Thursday morning. Police have identified the man as 28-year-old Antony Levon Cook, of Macomb Township. Around 3 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of North Avenue and 23 Mile on calls about a man walking in the road. While they were investigating, a call came in that he had been hit by a vehicle.

Police said it was a 35-year-old man from Macomb Township driving the Ford pickup truck that hit Cook. Cook was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver was released, pending further investigation. It does not appear that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the accident, according to police.
