Comerica Bank Accepting Prom Dress Donations
The annual prom dress drive at Comerica Bank helps local students experience prom through the Hope Closet.
METRO DETROIT, MI — Comerica Bank, which launched its third annual Prom Dress Drive benefiting Hope Closet on Monday, April 8, has announced the addition of two new donation locations at banking centers in Ann Arbor and Novi.
Building the success of the drive’s first two years, a total of 13 Comerica Bank locations throughout the metro Detroit area will collect new or gently-used dresses this year.
Beginning Thursday, Comerica banking centers at Grand River and Beck in Novi (47440 Grand River) and Stadium Boulevard and Pauline in Ann Arbor (1969 W. Stadium) will accept donations for the Prom Dress Drive, too.
Comerica’s Prom Dress Drive, one of the largest of its kind in metro Detroit, lasts through Friday, April 26.
Comerica will provide the donated dresses and accessories to Hope Closet, which provides young women with the opportunity to attend special high school events with a dress of their choice regardless of financial constraints or limitations.

"Hope Closet would not be successful without the outstanding support of Comerica Bank,” said Whitney Drake, founder and president of Hope Closet. “Through dress donations, funding and employee volunteers, Comerica has been a true partner in making southeast Michigan prom dreams come true."
Over the past two years, Comerica has donated nearly 2,500 dresses to Hope Closet in support of the event.

“Knowing we are creating special memories for students by helping them get access to dresses is rewarding,” said Monica L. Martinez, senior vice president of external affairs for Comerica Bank. “Hope Closet has provided those opportunities to hundreds of young people, and we proudly support the work Whitney Drake and the numerous volunteers do for so many. This would not be possible if not for the generous donations made by both individuals and other sources, including bridal shops. We thank those who have contributed and hope to deliver another great year of making the prom a special and memorable experience.”
Participating Comerica locations will also accept accessories such as jewelry, shoes, purses and wraps.
The Comerica Prom Dress drive is taking place in the following 11 metro Detroit communities: Ann Arbor, Auburn Hills, Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, Dearborn, Detroit, Grosse Pointe, Livonia, Northville, Novi and St. Clair Shores.
Those seeking to donate dress and accessories to the Comerica Prom Dress Drive in Detroit can do so by dropping off items in the main lobby of the Comerica Banking Center located off 411 West Lafayette St.
