Coyotes Kill Woman's Dog In Novi: Report

NOVI, MI — A woman is mourning the loss of her family pet after she said two coyotes killed him in their yard in Novi.

Debbie Oppat told WDIV that she let her Maltese dog out like normal, but stepped inside for a moment and heard a noise. That's when she said she looked and saw two coyotes carrying her dog back into the woods.

The woman tried to go into the woods to retrieve her dog, but feared for her own safety with the coyotes, the report said.

She's now hoping telling her story will save other families from the dangers of coyotes with their pets or children.
