All 19 Plymouth Puppies Abandoned In Park Have Found Forever Homes

The Humane Society of Huron Valley reports that all 19 puppies left abandoned in a box in Hines Park have been adopted.

PLYMOUTH, MI — The 19 puppies left piled on top of each other in a urine-soaked cardboard box in Hines Park during freezing temperatures in Dec. 2016 have all found their forever homes.

Wendy Welch, the Communications Director of the Humane Society of Huron Valley, reports that all 19 of the abandoned pitbull terrier mix puppies have been adopted. One family even drove from Indiana to adopt Holly, who reportedly couldn't stop happily kissing their faces. Welch told Patch, "We've got an incredible community who stepped up and wanted to adopt pitbull puppies."

The culprit responsible for abandoning 19 puppies in a urine-soaked cardboard box in Hines Park is still on the loose. Welch shared they have received a few tips, and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is offering up to a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for this crime.

"These helpless puppies were abandoned and left to starve or freeze to death in the winter cold," PETA Vice President Colleen O'Brien said in a statement. She continued, "PETA urges anyone with information about this case to come forward immediately so that whoever dumped these dogs can be held accountable for putting 19 lives in danger."

A jogger in Hines Park discovered the puppies on Dec. 28 upon hearing "little yelps," which turned out to be nine male and 10 female pit bull terrier mixed breed puppies estimated to be roughly 4-weeks-old squished on top of each other in a cardboard box. The Good Samaritan and her sister rushed the puppies to the Humane Society of Huron Valley, where they have been cared for since.
