Henry Grimm was born in Detroit in 1895.  When he was still a boy his family moved to what is now Livonia and the family began farming.  On reaching adulthood, Henry spent winters working in Detroit and summers working on the farm. On September 7, 1917, he took and passed his draft ‘examination’.
