Assessors To Review Canton Police For Prestigious Reaccreditation Of Law Enforcement Excellence

CANTON, MI - The Canton Police department will be assessed from top to bottom by assessors from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. on Monday, Nov. 28, according to a news release. Every facet of the Canton Police Department’s policies and procedures, management, operations, and support services will be analyzed and reviewed.

The assessors then present their findings to the Commission, which decides if the Canton Police Department meets the standards to be awarded the reaccreditation for their delivery of law enforcement excellence. Canton Police Department was awarded its original recognition in 2007, and has maintained reaccreditation every three years since.

And assessors want to know the public's feedback on the Canton police. The community is welcome to offer comments at a public information session on Tuesday, Nov. 29 at 7 p.m. in the Township Board Meeting Room of the Canton Administration Building (1150 S. Canton Center Rd., Canton).
