Auto Supplier Brings Jobs, $50K Tax Revenue To Plymouth Township

Negri Bossi North America, Inc., which sells plastic injection molding equipment, will open in about a year.

PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP, MI — An international company that sells plastic injection molding machines plans to build its North American headquarters in Plymouth Township. Negri Bossi North America, Inc. is moving from Delaware to Concept Drive in the Metro Plymouth Business Park and will bring about 20 jobs with it, according to a Plymouth Observer report.

A 31,000-square foot facility will be used primarily for sales to automotive industry companies. According to a June press release from Negri Bossi, the new facility will feature:

  • 6,000 sq.ft office and training facilities
  • 5,500 sq.ft demonstration and training area with 5 connected machines
  • 22,500 sq.ft warehouse – stock machines, robots and spare parts
  • Demonstration of machines up to 2000 ton
  • 3 x 25 ton cranes (50 ton combined lifting capacity
  • 50 seat classroom
  • Latest Audio-Visual technologies
  • Centralized chilling supplied by Frigel
  • Centralized material handling

The company said its new North American headquarters will cost about $4 million to build. Negri Bossi plans to break ground next spring and open by late summer, the Observer reported.

Besides sales, injection molding machines will be modified on-site to customer specification, which the company believes will improve delivery times and provide more flexibility. The large demo and tool trial facility is being designed to provide an excellent customer experience and an increased level of spare parts storage will further improve response times.

Plymouth Township’s Board of Trustees approved a 12-year, 50 percent tax abatement on the building for Negri Bossi, the Observer reported. The township expects to take in about $50,000 per year in new tax revenue.
