Canton Police Looking For Hit And Run Driver One Month After Fatal Crash

Canton Police are continuing to search for a driver involved in a three car crash that killed two pedestrians.

CANTON, MI — It's been one month since a tragic three car crash that claimed two pedestrians' lives, and Canton police are still searching for a driver that fled the deadly scene, according to media reports.

Canton police say that on Nov. 13 just before 6 p.m., 54-year-old Martin Jude Lesinski of Westland and a 45-year-old Robert James Locklear of Inkster were crossing Michigan Ave. when Lesinski was reportedly struck by a dark blue or black minivan, potentially a Dodge Caravan, which briefly stopped before taking off. Lesinksi was then was hit by a Buick Lacrosse, which did stop. Locklear was struck by a Ford Expedition, which also remained at the scene. Both Leskinski and Locklear succumbed to their injuries.

Canton police say that the two men were not in a crosswalk when they crossed the street, the Detroit Free Press reports.

Witnesses describe the hit and run driver as a man approximately 36-40-years-old, and clean-shaven with short black hair. He was wearing a dark, possibly black, suit with a red tie. If you have any information, please call the Canton Township Police Department at 734-394-5400.
