Canton High School Varsity Pompon Team Competes in the 2020 Mid American Pompon State Championship

On Sunday, February 9, the Canton High School Varsity Pompon Team competed in the Mid American Pompon State Championship. They competed against 12 other powerhouse varsity teams at Eastern Michigan University’s Convocation Center and ultimately came out on top becoming the 2020 Class A-Division I- State Champions!

This marks Canton’s 5th state championship previously winning in 1988, 1990, 1993, and 2015.

The win also enabled them to have a perfect season winning the Mid American Pompon High Kick Championship this past November. Since 2014, Canton Varsity Pom now has 3 state runner up titles, 2 state championships, and 5 high kick championships.
