Caught on Camera: Plymouth, Northville Burglaries May Be Linked

Home surveillance cameras caught a suspect ringing the doorbell and knocking at the door to see if anyone was home.

A Northville Township home invasion Nov. 25 may be connected with a rash of similar crimes which took place Nov. 28 in Plymouth Township, according to a report on WXYZ-TV.

The homeowner told WXYZ-TV two men entered his home Nov. 25, security camera caught the crime on tape, which showed one of the suspects ring the doorbell repeatedly and knocking on the door.

Moments later, the suspect returned with another man and forced their way into the house with a crowbar.

The crooks got away with about $50,000 in jewelry and cash, the victim said.

Police have yet to confirm the connection between the crimes, but told WXYZ-TV they are investigating the incident.

On Sunday, Plymouth Township police warned residents to be on the lookout for suspicious behavior after three residential break-ins Saturday in the Rolling Oaks subdivision off North Territorial Road.

One of the victims, Glen Spice, told WXYZ-TV that about $2,000 in jewelry and Christmas gifts were stolen in a break-in that he discovered when he returned to his home around 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

At least two other homeowners reported burglaries, according to police.

An alarm went off at another home in the subdivision about 6:45 p.m. Saturday and scared the burglar or burglars off.

Anyone who may have seen anyone suspicious in the subdivision Saturday is asked to call Plymouth Township Police at (734) 354-3248.
