FRONTLINE WORKERS TO RECEIVE 25% OFF FULL-DAY CAMPS
With the Governor’s approval, day camps are cleared to run starting June 8th which means that High Velocity Sports (located at 46245 Michigan Ave., Canton, MI 48188) is able to run the popular All-Sports Camps for kids plus a few specialty camps for soccer (Andrew Crawford’s Next Level Soccer Camps), basketball (Detroit Pistons Academy), volleyball (Hurricanes Volleyball), and lacrosse (Premier Lacrosse Group, PLG) June 15-September 4.
The HVS All-Sports Camps are for ages 5-14. Kids will play various sports every 30 minutes. The camps are offered for half day or full day, daily or weekly so parents have flexibility. Full-day camp is from 9am-4pm, Half-Day Camps are 9am-12pm or 1-4pm. Before care starts at 7:15am and After care is available until 6pm.
HVS Management, employees, and coaches will be following all recommended health guidelines by the State of Michigan, the CDC, and American Camp Association. Many modifications and new policies have been adopted. First, all staff will be wearing face coverings although campers have the option. Curbside drop-off will allow HVS staff to take the temperature of each employee and camper and conduct a quick survey prior to entering the building. No one with a temperature over 100 degrees will be permitted to enter. Additional staff will be on call every day to cover any staff that may not be able to work on a particular day plus to help adhere to a 1:10 coach to camper ratio. Smaller group sizes will help kids social distance. Equipment and touch points will be sanitized consistently and in between each change of sport between groups. Deep cleanings will take place daily. Hand sanitizing stations will be added and hand-washing and sanitizing will be mandatory before and after each station and any snack or lunch breaks. Tables during snack and lunch breaks will be pushed apart and limited numbers per table will help keep kids separated. Sanitized milk crates will be provided for every camper each day to store belongings. At pick-up, parents will be required to come into the front lobby with a face covering. There will be four customer service windows with social distancing markings on the floor to keep everyone apart. Barriers have been added at each window to provide additional protection.
Frontline workers with a hospital, police, fire, or ambulance employee ID can receive 25% off full-day enrollment (daily or weekly). Those eligible can email Elaine Matthews (elaine@hvsports.com) with a picture of their ID and a phone number to register over the phone (734) 487-7678.
All-Sports Camps have been a community favorite because kids are kept active and the flexibility is unparallel. “Our goal is always to provide a clean, fun, and reliable environment where kids can thrive,” said CEO Bryan Finnerty. All HVS Camp Staff and Management are CPR, First Aid, and AED certified.
