Detroit Area Weekend Weather Forecast: Partly To Mostly Sunny, Rising Temps

This weekend's weather forecast starts out with cold on Friday and gradually improves

METRO DETROIT, MI — When you’re talking about weather, everything is relative. In a “normal” Michigan winter, this weekend’s forecast wouldn’t sound too bad with high temperatures ranging 28 degrees today all the way up to 48 by Sunday.

But this has been anything but a typical winter, right? Walking around in light jackets or shirt sleeves at various points in January and February — that just doesn’t happen, not in the Mitten.

Thus far in 2017, however, anything seems to be possible. So, without further ado, here is your weekend anything-can-happen forecast from the National Weather Service:

Today: A slight chance of snow showers before 1 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 28. Northwest wind 11 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent. Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 18. West northwest wind 7 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 32. Calm wind becoming east southeast around 6 mph in the afternoon. Saturday Night: Increasing clouds, with a low around 25. East southeast wind 7 to 9 mph.

Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 48. South wind 9 to 11 mph. Sunday Night: A chance of rain after 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 40. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.
