Family Fight Leads To Felony Charge For Son

After his phone was taken, police allege a 21-year-old Canton man pulled a gun on his stepfather.

CANTON, MI — A 21-year-old Canton man was arrested and charged with felonious assault after an argument with his stepfather turned heated on Sept. 12, according to a Canton Observer report. After the two briefly fought, the stepfather took the 21-year-old’s phone into his bedroom.

“The stepfather went into his bedroom, but the stepson came up behind him, pointed something to his head and demanded his phone, the report said.”
“The stepson got his phone and left the room. As he walked away, it appeared he was holding a gun, the stepfather told police. The stepson does have two BB guns, the report said, but he said he wasn't using either of them.”
