Fun Upcoming Events At The Plymouth & Northville Libraries

Fun summer activities continue at the Plymouth Library, and they have joined forces with the Northville Library to share event info for you!

English Language Learners – Every Monday morning, 10 & 11 a.m.

In conjunction with the Plymouth Canton Community Literacy Council, the English Language Learning group meets each Monday morning in virtual sessions. All are invited to the conversation session at 10 a.m. and a reading session at 11a.m. Trained tutors cover comprehension, pronunciation, grammar, context, and current events. Dementia Conversations with Debra Archer and Rick Bloom – Wednesday, July 22, 7 p.m.

In this online program, Debra Archer and Rick Bloom provide valuable information for discussing some of the most important issues you and your loved ones may face. Debra Archer is a Certified Dementia Practitioner and teaches in the Schoolcraft College dementia care certificate program. This program is presented by the Northville District Library and the Alzheimer's
Association Greater Michigan Chapter.

Insurance Reform Program – Wednesday, August 5, 12:30 p.m.
Our insurance reform program in June was a great success – and folks asked that it be offered once more. Plan now to attend this online program and learn more about the auto no-fault laws from the Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services. Register at plymouthlibrary.org and obtain Zoom instructions.

TEENS & YOUTH
Yo-Yo Tricks - Tuesday, July 28, 7 – 8:30 p.m.
Teens and kids, ages 10-17, will learn how to do amazing yo-yo tricks from champions. Go to plymouthlibrary.org and click on Events. Sign-up for the event and receive a yo-yo –
practice with some selected videos and then join the group on Zoom. All in attendance will get to meet the yo-yo guys, show off new tricks, and get tips toward the next level. Space is limited to
the first 24 sign-ups – sign up today at plymouthlibrary.org

Teen Virtual Scavenger Hunt - Tuesday, August 4, 6 -7 p.m.
Search through both real and virtual space to score points and win prizes! This Northville program will be held through Zoom—be sure to register to get access to the meeting link and password.

YOUTH

My Father's Dragon Family Book Club - Monday, July 20, 6:30 – 8p.m.

In My Father's Dragon a young boy runs away with an alley cat to a faraway Island to rescue a baby
dragon. Armed with two dozen pink lollipops, rubber bands, chewing gum, and a fine-toothed comb, Elmer makes a successful journey and overcomes the fierce beasts on wild Island. Read
or listen to the book on Hoopla, and join us to share your thoughts! Open to ages 6-12, and parents and caregivers.

Bedtime stories on Wednesdays and Sundays, 6:30 p.m.
