Gorgeous Metro Detroit Weather Alert: Get Outside If You Can

Once the rain moves out of southeast Michigan, you'll get the weather you've been waiting for.

METRO DETROIT, MI – If you can swing it, ask the boss for some paid time off toward the end of the work week. If you can’t, try to figure out a way to take your work outside.

The threat of rain disappears from the forecast Wednesday, and from then on through the weekend, skies will be sunny, according to the National Weather Service forecast for the week ahead.

By Friday, temperatures will reach the low 70s and will remain there through Sunday.

Here’s the Metro Detroit seven-day forecast from the National Weather Service:

Sunday night: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly before 8 p.m., mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 40. West southwest wind 7 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 65. Breezy, with a west southwest wind 10 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Monday night: A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 48. West southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light and variable after midnight.

Tuesday: A 40 percent chance of showers. Cloudy, with a high near 62. Light north wind becoming north northeast 5 to 9 mph in the morning. Tuesday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 44. Northeast wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm after midnight.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 63. Wednesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 45.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 67. Thursday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 49.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 70. Friday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 52.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 71. Saturday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 53.
