Is the nominee considered an “essential worker”?:
Yes
What does the nominee do for work?:
At the UofM. He’s patient assistant.
Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
He recently started this position no healthcare back ground. He’s studying bio-engineering currently at Washtenaw plans to switch over to UofM Dearborn campus. He’s my straight A student. Will be applying to UofM scholarship programs. In this position while working closely one on one with doctors patients. He says he’s been able to acknowledge some of the challenges limitations there are within the healthcare industry. With his degree he hopes to close some disconnects. Some gaps.
As I mentioned he’s been at the position for short stay at this point. No more than 6months. But patients are as is requesting for him to provide repeat service as unfortunately many patients end up in hospital systems. Over all Sean loves going to work providing personal care. Was recently promoted to VMT (video monitoring position). Now depending on need hes day May consist of providing direct patient care, or VMT.
What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:
He’s had a tough life. From homeless shelter, public transportation to food stamps. But he’s survived it all. He’s leadership role in the community not only to kids but to many elders as well. He’s a great big brother to his little brother.
