Name of the person who nominated the hero:
Tina Pierzynski
Is the nominee considered an “essential worker”?:
Yes
What does the nominee do for work?:
Grocery clerk
Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
Madison has been pulling grocery orders, packing them in cars and doing it with a smile. She has been working overtime, going in on her days off and staying up to 12 hours in a day to get people what they need. She’s not the only one, the staff at her store are in at 1 am pulling food for the pickups. Often times “essential frontline workers” are seen as doctors and nurses..... and rightly so, we have another daughter who works the Covid testing site in Detroit, but we need grocery workers, gas station attendants, and trash haulers. These people keep us fed, moving, and clean. I am proud of her.
What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:
She’s working hard, with a positive attitude even though her College graduation ceremony was canceled, her internship was cut short, and her prospects for a job in her field of study have dwindled. Madison is still smiling and still working hard.
