Iraqi Artist Alyasiry's Paintings On Display At Canton Gallery
The gallery will host a special reception for the artist next week.

CANTON, MI – The paintings of Detroit-area artist Haydar Alysiry are now on display in the Gallery@VT in The Village Theater at Cherry Hill. The special exhibit, titled "Eve For Eternity," runs through April 28.
The theater will host a free reception for Alysiry at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 9. The event is open to the public.
Originally from Iraq, Alyasiry’s oil paintings, pastels, and watercolors reflect his passion for his roots and the memories that he has carried with him across continents to his new homeland in the United States. More than 40 works will be on display in the exhibit.

Alyasiry’s experience in the art world has taken him from curating art exhibitions in New York, Chicago, Philadelphia and Detroit to teaching art to high school students in Basrah. Alyasiry has also has been a caricaturist for several Iraqi and Arab-American newspapers.
The exhibit at the Gallery@VT is free and open to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday, and one hour prior to and during public performances at the theater, and by appointment. The Gallery@VT is closed on holidays. The gallery is located at 50400 Cherry Hill Rd., Canton, MI, 48187.
