Marriott Hotels Planned For Plymouth Township

Plans for the hotels have not gone through the complete approval process from the township yet.

PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP, MI — For a few decades, Steak and Ale and Bennigan’s served as a nice entry point into Plymouth Township. But the restaurants closed and fell into disrepair years ago and the township has been searching for an entrepreneur to redevelop the site at Ann Arbor Road and I-275 since.

That search appears to be over as Aloft by Marriott and Residence Inn by Marriott are now in the works for the site, according to a Plymouth Observer report. If ultimately completed, the two hotels would bring 190 rooms.

"These are not your average hotels," Plymouth Township Supervisor Kurt Heise said. "They're very hip and trendy. They're very impressive, chic hotels."
"I think it's an excellent fit for that site," Heise said. "This is the premier gateway to the entire Plymouth community. This (development) will make a great statement."
