Metro Detroit Weekend Weather Forecast: Cooler Temps, Clouds
Thunderstorms are possible Thursday evening. Cooler temperatures for the weekend will follow behind the storm.
METRO DETROIT, MI — After a hot middle of the week, the metro Detroit weather forecast is for a cool weekend. Behind Thunderstorms Thursday evening, a cold front is going to push temperatures down starting Friday, which will see a high of only 61 degrees.
Temperatures will gradually climb all weekend, but a fair amount of cloud cover and possible rain on Sunday make it less than last weekend’s ideal weather. Here’s a closer look at your weekend weather forecast, according to the National Weather Service:
Thursday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 52. West wind 11 to 13 mph becoming north northwest after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Friday: Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 61. Northeast wind around 11 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph. Friday Night: Increasing clouds, with a low around 46. Northeast wind 7 to 10 mph.
Saturday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 67. East wind 10 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Saturday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 58. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

Sunday: Showers likely, mainly before 2pm. Cloudy, with a high near 77. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. Sunday Night: A chance of showers before 8pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 53.
The work week will start Monday with a partly sunny day and a high near 68.
