Metro Detroit Weekend Weather Forecast: Heat Wave Coming After Friday's Rain
Rain will dominate the weather on Friday, but then the sun and heat will roll into Metro Detroit for the remainder of the weekend.
METRO DETROIT, MI — If you decided on a three-day weekend, Friday’s weather probably isn’t what you had in mind. Rain started shortly after the morning commute and, according to the National Weather Service, the rest of the day isn’t like to improve.
Rain could continue throughout Friday with thunderstorms possible before midnight. Overnight, skies will be partly cloudy and the low will be around 60 degrees.
Heat will settle in after Friday's rain with high's near 90. Here’s a look at the rest of the metropolitan Detroit weekend weather forecast:

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 87. Southwest wind 5 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 69. Southwest wind 11 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 89. Southwest wind around 13 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 70.
The start of the work week Monday will continue with hot weather. The National Weather Service calls for a sunny day with a high near 91 degrees.
