Temperatures will jump to summer-like levels by mid-week.

METRO DETROIT, MI — Hello summer. That’s what Detroit-area residents will be saying by midweek. According to the National Weather Service, temperatures are going to continue to climb until hitting a balmy 86 degrees Wednesday afternoon.
It happens almost every year, doesn’t it? A coolish spring fades right into summer heat. This “heatwave” won’t last long, however. Thursday looks like a high of about 82 and Friday will be more seasonable at 73 degrees. Here’s a closer look at your metropolitan Detroit workweek weather forecast:
Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 46. North northeast wind 5 to 8 mph becoming calm after midnight.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 69. Light and variable wind becoming east northeast around 5 mph in the morning. Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 51. Southeast wind 3 to 6 mph.
Tuesday: A chance of showers between 8am and 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 78. South southeast wind 6 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 64.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 86. Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65.
Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 82. Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 58.
Friday: A chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 73.
