Mitsubishi Workers Raise $11,750 for Miracle League of Plymouth

The Miracle League of Plymouth holds two seven-week seasons a year to give disabled children a chance to play baseball.

Plymouth, MI — The Miracle League of Plymouth, a nonprofit organization that makes it possible for children with developmentally disabled children to play baseball, received a donation of nearly $11,750 from Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America’s Detroit Office.

The money was raised at the PEACE (Proving Excellence And Caring Exist) Committee Classic, held at Cattails Golf Club in South Lyon.

More than 40 companies supported this year’s outing, including: 107 golfers, 18 hole sponsors and 28 prize donors.

“Each year participation has grown in the number of golfers and sponsors who have supported our cause,” Mark Rakoski, executive director of Mitsubishi Electric, said in a statement. “Through everyone’s generosity, we were able to raise nearly $5,000 more compared to last year’s event.

“We are very grateful for the amount of continued support we receive for this outing. It is a great cause, and we’re happy to do it.”

This year, Mitsubishi was able to volunteer at four games during the months of May and June, and will also be attending the last spring season game on June 25th, presenting the donation check prior to the game.
